Acted for eHealth Queensland in the implementation of the State's integrated electronic health records system. This included an innovative performance-based contracting approach, a whole-of-state licensing regime, and specification and procurement of long-term managed services and high-availability infrastructure to support the system.
Acted for Suncorp's bank and insurance businesses in a large number of information system acquisitions, including banking and financial systems, marketing systems and communications software and hardware, insurance data analytics systems, and BPAY and BPAY VIEW implementations.
Acted for HSQ in relation to the re-contracting of its AUSLAB and AUSCARE systems, which manage and report pathology testing for Queensland Health facilities statewide. The systems require high-availability infrastructure and support, and long-term assurance of access, given their significance to the Department's operations.
Acted for Fathom Applications, a leading provider of cloud-based management reporting and financial analysis tools that work with Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks. Advised on Fathom's end-user agreement and other standard documentation, as well as in relation to a number of specific partnering and licensing transactions.
Acted for Queensland Treasury Corporation in relation to an information systems dispute arising from a poorly performing service provider. Assisted the agency to successfully resolve the dispute and replace the service provider by way of an negotiated transition out, ultimately without the need to pursue litigation.
Acted for Queensland Health in numerous commercial and procurement transactions, including in relation to the preparation of standard-form research funding and clinical trial agreements for use throughout the State.
Acted for Aginic, a leading provider of dashboarding and data analytics. Work undertaken included a review of Aginic's standard services terms, and advice on IP protection, transaction risk, and other contract issues, in the context of specific supply engagements.
Acted for Impedimed in relation to the intellectual property aspects of its IPO. This included analysing IP ownership and chain-of-title issues, analysing and resolving third party claims against key IP, drafting the IP parts of the documents effecting the company's de-merger, and drafting relevant sections of the prospectus.
Acted for DSTC Pty Ltd in relation to the IT and IP aspects of the winding-up of the CSC for Distributed Systems Technology, including advising on the formation and transfer of IP to spin-off company Extensia, formed to develop and commercialise DSTC's electronic health records technologies.
Acted for Metal Storm in relation to an IP development and commercialisation agreement with Singapore Technologies Kinetics Ltd for the staged development and commercialisation of IP relating to Metal Storm's innovative stacked-round munitions and launchers.
